Why not Stripe Connect

On Stripe Connect you earn what you add yourself

On Stripe Connect you earn what you add yourself: an application fee your customers pay, or your own pricing on a negotiated buy rate once you have the volume and a payments team to run it. Stripe's partner revenue share is negotiated case by case above a volume bar. If you are a vertical software company with no payments team, none of that pays you much.

We pay a published share of the processing margin on every customer you bring, we do the boarding, statements and support, and your customers get the business software with it: CRM, booking, invoicing, texting and the AI receptionist, configured for the jobs your customers do in your tool.

How the share works

A share of the margin, in writing

A revenue share on the processing margin of every customer you bring, tiered by the volume you board, with a floor we retain for gateway, risk and support, a quarterly true-up and a per-customer statement. Exclusivity earns the top tier. Your schedule comes with our term sheet once we have seen your volume.

Merchant pricing follows our published schedule: interchange plus one small, disclosed margin, or a compliant dual-pricing program where the law allows.

  • Every customer you bring, for as long as it processes with us
  • Tiered by the volume you board, with exclusivity earning the top tier
  • A floor we retain for gateway, risk and support, so the share is on real margin
  • Quarterly true-up and a per-customer statement you can audit
  • Term sheet after we see your volume; nothing here is a quote
Two tracks

Pick the track that matches how your customers pay

Both tracks are by invitation while we add partners in cohorts. Each customer holds its own merchant account in its own name.

Integrated referral By invitationYour customers each hold their own merchant account. Integrate hosted fields, tokens, card on file and invoices through our gateway, or simply refer. Typical integration: two to six weeks, depending on your team.
Pair your software with ours By invitationKeep your product and brand; we add the all-in-one suite as your pro tier, configured for the jobs your customers do in your tool, and run payments underneath. Tier one for the suite is us; your tool stays yours; sync issues go to our build team. Six to twelve weeks.
Who carries what

You build. We board, support and report.

Underwriting, settlement and riskCarried by our sponsor-bank processing partner. Each customer is underwritten once and holds its own merchant account in its own name.
Boarding, statements and supportOurs. Your customers get a branded help center and our desk on chat and email during business hours (Eastern), with same-business-day callbacks; your team keeps tier one if you prefer, or hands it all to us. Extended hours are an add-on.
IntegrationYours, with our help: hosted fields, tokens, card on file, invoices, pay links and webhooks, or hosted checkout if you would rather not write code.
Card data and PCIWe keep card data out of the software; hosting and platform security sit with us; PCI validation stays with each merchant and the processor, and we help each customer complete the annual questionnaire.
Boarding reality

No customer loses a payout

Each of your customers completes a short merchant application; approvals typically take a few business days; we pre-fill it from your data.

Beyond payments

What your customers can offer today

PaymentsOnline, in person, invoices, card on file, recurring billing and smart retries.
ACHA flat per-item fee instead of a percentage; the business decides whether the payer covers it. Returned payments: the processor's return fee passes through at cost, with two automatic retries.
Business banking & cardsBusiness checking, expense cards and gift cards for your customers, provided through our partner bank, subject to approval, on the same login as payments.

Also on the same login: Payroll, through our payroll partner.

If we part ways, you may take your customers to a new processor with our cooperation (token export) and the share ends, or they stay and the share continues — your choice, written into the agreement. We do not market our own editions to customers you board.

FAQ

ISV questions

How is this different from Stripe Connect?
On Stripe Connect you earn what you add yourself: an application fee your customers pay, or your own pricing on a negotiated buy rate once you have the volume and a payments team to run it. We pay a published share of the processing margin on every customer you bring, do the boarding, statements and support, and your customers get the business software with it.
Do we have to become a payments company?
No. Underwriting, settlement and risk are carried by our sponsor-bank processing partner; we board, support and report. You integrate hosted fields and tokens, or simply refer.
How do our customers get boarded?
Each of your customers completes a short merchant application; approvals typically take a few business days; we pre-fill it from your data. Each customer holds its own merchant account in its own name with our processing partner.
What about the cards we have stored on Stripe?
Stored cards are tokens, and tokens can be migrated. We plan the token migration with our processing partner, run both systems in parallel, and cut over in groups so no recurring charge is missed.
What is the share, exactly?
A revenue share on the processing margin of every customer you bring, tiered by the volume you board, with a floor we retain for gateway, risk and support, a quarterly true-up and a per-customer statement. Your schedule comes with our term sheet once we have seen your volume.
What happens if we part ways?
Your choice, written into the agreement: take your customers to a new processor with our cooperation (token export) and the share ends, or they stay and the share continues. We do not market our own editions to customers you board.
Can we set our own merchant pricing?
Merchant pricing follows our published schedule: interchange plus one small, disclosed margin, or a compliant dual-pricing program where the law allows. Your customers see the schedule before they sign.
