Built for congregations and nonprofits

One ledger for the whole community

A congregation is several organizations at once: a membership with dues, a giving operation with pledges and appeals, often a school, a hall with event billing and a small staff. Each family gets one account that shows all of it. Churches, ministries, temples and general nonprofits use this edition as it ships; shuls run on 613OS.

Membership & duesFamily accounts with dues schedules, custom charges (honors, seats, classes), automatic billing and statements that show everything a family owes and has given.
Donations by fundGiving pages per fund: general, building, scholarship, memorial. Recurring gifts, dedications and donor-covered fees at checkout.
PledgesRecord a pledge, set its schedule, and let the platform collect and remind. Fulfillment by campaign on one screen for the board.
Events & ticketsDinners, galas, classes and hall rentals with tickets, table holds and sponsorships, billed to the family account.
Receipts & acknowledgmentsInstant email receipts on every gift, acknowledgment letters in your words, and year-end giving statements in one click.
Donation kiosksUnattended-rated kiosk devices in enclosures for the lobby and handheld terminals for events: preset amounts, fund selection, receipt by text. Recurring gifts are set up with the donor's consent and a receipt. See hardware →
AI, in congregation terms

What the AI does for a congregation

Describe the rule once in plain English. The workflow builder assembles it and asks before switching it on.

Thanks every donor within the hourA gift lands. The receipt goes out instantly, a thank-you from the rabbi or pastor follows in your words, and gifts over a threshold go on the leadership call list.
Recovers the dues that bouncedA monthly card declines. The family gets a quiet text with a secure link, a retry runs on schedule, and the office sees only what is still open.
Runs the pledge follow-upPledged but not paid by the date? A reminder goes out, then a second, then a call list for the committee. Nothing falls through.
Answers the office line after hoursService times, dinner tickets, how to pay dues, where to park. The receptionist answers texts and chats around the clock and routes pastoral matters to a person.
Payments built in

More of every gift reaches the mission

Nonprofits pay less for cards, and should. Qualified 501(c)(3) organizations can be boarded at the card networks' charity interchange rates, which are meaningfully lower than standard credit-card rates; we confirm eligibility per organization at underwriting. Dues and large gifts move by ACH at a flat per-item fee instead of a percentage. Donors can cover the fee at checkout, and many do when asked.

  • Charity interchange rates for qualified 501(c)(3) organizations, confirmed at underwriting
  • Flat per-item ACH fee for dues and large gifts; the organization decides whether the payer covers it
  • Returned payments: the processor's return fee passes through at cost, with two automatic retries
  • Donor-covered fees as a checkbox on every giving page
  • Card on file for monthly dues and recurring gifts, with smart retries
  • Tap-to-donate kiosks, countertop terminal at the office, pay links for everything else
  • Each congregation holds its own merchant account, in its own name, with our processing partner

Plans for congregations

Which plan a congregation picks

Most congregations run on Pro at $299/mo ($249/mo billed annually): giving pages by fund, pledges, memberships, email and SMS to the whole community, workflow automation, the AI receptionist and unlimited users for staff and committee volunteers. Pro is credited back at higher processing volumes. Basic is $99/mo, and while you process with Merch FinTech we credit it back on your monthly processing statement, so the software is on us; it fits a small congregation that needs dues, donations and receipts. Compare plans. Need it built around how you run? Custom builds from $1,999.

Shuls and Jewish nonprofits: see 613OS, our dedicated edition for Jewish institutions, which replaces ShulCloud and carries the school, the shul and the camp on one family account. Churches, ministries, temples and general nonprofits use this edition.

Banking and cards. Scribe community cards for the gift shop and youth programs, and business banking are provided through our partner bank and card program partners, subject to approval. See banking · See cards.
FAQ

Questions from congregation offices

Can donors cover the processing fee on their gifts?
Yes. At checkout, donors can add the processing cost to their gift, and many do when asked. Dues and large gifts can also move by ACH at a flat per-item fee instead of a percentage. Either way, the congregation keeps the gift.
What is charity interchange, and do we qualify?
Card networks set lower interchange rates for registered 501(c)(3) organizations. Qualified organizations can be boarded at those charity interchange rates, which are meaningfully lower than standard credit-card rates; we confirm eligibility per organization at underwriting. You need your IRS determination letter; we handle the rest at application.
Can one family account carry dues, school tuition and event charges?
Yes, that is the design. One statement, one or several payment methods, one place for the family to see everything they owe and have given. Honors, seats, classes and hall rentals post to the same account.
We're a synagogue. This edition or 613OS?
613OS, our dedicated edition for Jewish institutions, with the Hebrew calendar, honors billing, yizkor and the school-and-shul combination already configured. It replaces ShulCloud. Churches, ministries, temples and general nonprofits use this edition. Same platform, same rails.
Are receipts and year-end statements automatic?
Yes. Every gift gets an instant email receipt with the required language, acknowledgment letters go out in your words, and year-end giving statements generate for every donor in one click in January.
