What your bank and your processor never did together

Each feature exists because the account knows about your payments.

One dashboardBalances, deposits, reserves, card spend and processing in one view, on the same login that runs your booking and invoicing.

Why together

Why banking and payments belong together

A processor sends money to a bank that has no idea what it is. When the two share a ledger, the busywork disappears.

Reconciliation stops being a jobEvery deposit already matched to the batch that created it, net of fees. Nothing to tie out at month end.
Reserves happen by rule, not by memoryA share of each deposit goes to the reserve the moment it lands. Payroll tax is there on the day it is due.
Money moves on your scheduleReserves and vendor payments run from one balance, approved from your phone, with the bill attached.
Spend is controlled before it happensExpense cards draw on the same account with limits you set. A receipt is requested by text the moment the card is used.
How it opens

Four steps from dashboard to account

The application starts in the dashboard you already use. Here is the order things happen in.

1
Tell us about your businessYour business, your monthly volume and which features matter. Processing customers have the shortest path.
2
QualificationWe review your processing history and business profile against the partner bank's requirements and tell you where you stand.
3
Apply from your dashboardThe application is pre-filled from your account. The bank completes its own checks under its account agreement.
4
The account opensThe account appears in your dashboard with your processing deposits routed to it. Cards follow.

Merch FinTech is a financial services and software company, not a bank. Banking and card products are provided through our partner bank and opened under that bank's account agreement after the bank completes its review. Nothing on this page is an offer of a bank account; the account is opened with the bank.

FAQ

Questions about business banking

How do I open a business account?
From your dashboard. The application is pre-filled from your Merch FinTech account, our partner bank completes its own review, and the account appears in your dashboard once it is open. Cards follow.
Who holds my money?
Merch FinTech is not a bank and does not hold deposits. Your account is held at our partner bank under that bank's account agreement, which sets out the terms, including deposit insurance.
Do I have to switch banks to use your processing?
No. Processing deposits to any US business bank account. A Merch FinTech account is optional; with it, funding, reserves, ACH and cards live in the same dashboard as your payments.
Can I set money aside for payroll tax automatically?
Yes. That is what reserve sub-accounts are for: a rule moves a share of each deposit to a reserve the moment it lands, and a scheduled ACH pays the agency on the due date.
